Neuromodulators in Cleveland, OH

Cleveland | Columbus | Pittsburgh | Detroit | Cincinnati

Relax wrinkles and rejuvenate your look with little to no downtime.

Neuromodulators like BOTOX®, Dysport®, and DAXXIFY® offer a non-surgical solution for softening expression lines, preventing wrinkles from becoming more pronounced, and achieving a more refreshed appearance without surgery. These injectable treatments temporarily relax the facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles, smoothing the skin while preserving natural facial movement.

At Wick Facial Plastics in Cleveland, wrinkle relaxer injections are personally performed by double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Elizabeth Wick. She provides customized treatments with BOTOX, Dysport, and DAXXIFY, so patients throughout Northeast Ohio can look and feel their best.

What Are Neuromodulators?

Neuromodulators are cosmetic injectables that are used to reduce the appearance of facial creases, refine facial contours, and enhance facial balance, all without surgery or significant downtime. Injectable wrinkle relaxers like BOTOX, Dysport, and DAXXIFY are most commonly used to target dynamic wrinkles, which are the lines that develop from repeated muscle movement.

What Can Neuromodulators Treat?

BOTOX, DAXXIFY, and Dysport can be used in many areas of the face to soften expression lines and improve facial harmony.

Neuromodulators are often used to address:

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines (“11s”)
  • Crow’s feet
  • Bunny lines
  • Chin dimpling
  • Gummy smile
  • Downturned corners of the mouth
  • Trapezius muscle slimming (TrapTox)
  • Platysmal neck bands
  • Broad or square jawline (masseter reduction)

Neuromodulators are also commonly used as a preventative treatment for younger patients who want to slow and prevent the progression of dynamic wrinkles.

BOTOX vs. Dysport vs. DAXXIFY

BOTOX, Dysport, and DAXXIFY are all FDA-approved neuromodulators that work in a similar way. Although all three products temporarily relax targeted facial muscles, they differ in their formulations, manufacturing processes, and how they spread within treated muscles.

These differences can influence how quickly results appear, how long they last, and which product may be best for a particular treatment area or aesthetic goal.

What to Expect During Treatment

Neuromodulator appointments are performed in our Beachwood office by Dr. Wick and take about 15 to 30 minutes. After evaluating your facial movement and discussing your concerns, Dr. Wick will precisely place a series of small injections into the targeted muscles using a very fine needle. A topical numbing cream can be applied to ensure your comfort.

What to Expect After Wrinkle Relaxer Injections

There is virtually no downtime following treatment. Mild redness, bruising, or swelling at the injection sites can occur but usually resolves within a few hours. To help ensure the best possible results, Dr. Wick will provide personalized aftercare instructions.

In general, you will be advised to:

  • Keep your head upright for about four hours after treatment.
  • Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas until instructed otherwise.
  • Refrain from strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and other activities that significantly increase body temperature for the rest of the day.
  • Postpone facials or other treatments that involve pressure on the treated areas until cleared by Dr. Wick.

Your results will develop gradually over the next several days, with the full effect typically visible within two weeks.

Why Choose a Facial Plastic Surgeon for Neuromodulators in Cleveland?

Achieving natural-looking neuromodulator results requires an in-depth understanding of facial anatomy, muscle function, and the aging process. A facial plastic surgeon has specialized training in how the muscles, skin, and underlying structures of the face work together, allowing treatments to be tailored to reduce wrinkles while maintaining facial balance and expression.

At Wick Facial Plastics, every neuromodulator treatment is performed by Dr. Elizabeth Wick, a double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon who has performed thousands of aesthetic procedures for patients from Shaker Heights, Pepper Pike, Solon, Chagrin Falls, Rocky River, Westlake, Cleveland Heights, University Heights, and throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond.

Patients choose Dr. Wick for her:

Specialized facial expertise
Because Dr. Wick focuses exclusively on aesthetic treatments for the face, she can precisely evaluate facial movement and identify the optimal injection sites and dosing to achieve natural-looking results.

Personalized treatment planning
Rather than following a standard injection pattern, Dr. Wick customizes every treatment based on your needs and desired outcome.

Comprehensive facial rejuvenation
Unlike providers who offer only injectable treatments, Dr. Wick can determine when neuromodulators are the right solution and when combining them with other non-surgical procedures or facial plastic surgery may produce a better result.

Thoughtful, conservative approach
Dr. Wick believes less is often more. Every treatment is carefully planned to refresh your appearance while preserving the facial expressions that make you look like yourself.

Can neuromodulators be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Neuromodulators address dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions, but they don't treat every sign of facial aging. Depending on your concerns, Dr. Wick may recommend combining wrinkle relaxers with:

  • Dermal fillers to restore lost volume
  • RF microneedling or laser treatments to improve skin tone and texture
  • Facial plastic surgery to address more advanced skin laxity

How do I know which wrinkle relaxer is right for me?

The best wrinkle relaxer for you will depend on the treatment area, how quickly you'd like to see results, how long you'd like them to last, and whether you've had neuromodulator treatments in the past. Dr. Wick will provide personalized recommendations and answer any questions you may have during your consultation.
