FaceTite® in Cleveland, OH

Cleveland | Columbus | Pittsburgh | Detroit | Cincinnati

Minimally invasive skin tightening for a rejuvenated look

As we age, the lower face can gradually lose its definition. We may notice jowling, sagging skin, or a “turkey neck.” With FaceTite®, patients have a minimally invasive option for restoring youthful contours and tightening skin to refresh the lower face and neck.

At Wick Facial Plastics, double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Elizabeth Wick performs FaceTite in Cleveland for patients from throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond who want more noticeable tightening than non-invasive treatments can typically provide but do not need a traditional facelift to achieve their cosmetic goals.

What Is FaceTite?

FaceTite is a radiofrequency-assisted procedure that improves mild to moderate skin laxity in the lower face and neck. Unlike treatments that work only on the skin’s surface, FaceTite delivers controlled radiofrequency (RF) energy beneath the skin through a small internal probe while an external electrode monitors skin temperature for precision and safety.

The thermal energy contracts existing collagen fibers to help tighten loose tissue, improve skin quality, and enhance facial contours while requiring significantly less downtime than a facelift or neck lift. FaceTite also stimulates collagen production for ongoing improvements in skin firmness over several weeks following treatment.

What Can FaceTite Treat?

Dr. Wick often recommends FaceTite to address:

  • Mild to moderate skin laxity in the lower face
  • Early jowling
  • Loose or sagging neck skin (“turkey neck”)
  • Reduced definition between the jawline and neck

Who Is a Candidate for FaceTite?

Men and women of many ages can be good candidates for FaceTite, though most candidates are in their 30s to 50s. Candidates typically have mild to moderate skin laxity and good skin elasticity, with enough underlying support to respond well to tightening and contouring.

Candidacy depends on several factors, including facial volume, fat distribution, bone structure, skin quality, and the degree of laxity. Patients with more advanced sagging, poor skin elasticity, or significant facial volume loss may be better served by a facelift, neck lift, or other facial plastic surgery procedure.

During your consultation, Dr. Wick will perform a comprehensive evaluation to determine whether FaceTite can provide the level of correction you are seeking or whether another approach would produce a better result.

Benefits of FaceTite

FaceTite offers a middle ground between non-invasive skin tightening and more extensive facial surgery. Benefits of this minimally invasive facial rejuvenation procedure include:

  • More substantial tissue tightening than non-invasive treatments
  • Tiny, discreet entry points rather than traditional surgical incisions
  • Shorter recovery than a facelift or neck lift
  • Progressive tightening as new collagen develops
  • Can be combined with complementary treatments, such as Morpheus8® or liposuction, when appropriate

What to Expect During Your FaceTite Procedure

Dr. Wick performs FaceTite procedures in our Beachwood office. This treatment is usually done using local anesthesia with sedation rather than general anesthesia.

Dr. Wick begins by making one to three tiny incisions in the treatment area. These openings are just large enough to accommodate the FaceTite probe and often do not require stitches.

The FaceTite probe is then inserted through the access points to heat the targeted tissue. An external electrode is positioned over the skin to create a controlled field of RF energy that contracts collagen and underlying tissue.

Most FaceTite procedures take approximately one to two hours, although treatment time varies according to the areas being addressed and whether FaceTite is combined with another procedure.

What to Expect During Recovery After FaceTite

Swelling, bruising, tenderness, and a temporary feeling of tightness are common during the first several days after FaceTite. The amount of swelling varies depending on the extent of treatment and whether another procedure is performed at the same time.

A compression garment is typically worn continuously for the first 48 to 72 hours, followed by additional wear as directed by Dr. Wick. Compression helps support the treated tissues and manage swelling during the early stages of healing.

Many patients return to work and other non-strenuous activities within three to five days, although some residual swelling or bruising may remain beyond that point. Dr. Wick will provide specific instructions for exercise, skincare, and other activities based on your procedure.

Early improvements may become apparent after a week or so as the initial swelling subsides. More noticeable tightening and contouring develop over the following six to eight weeks and continue to evolve for several months as new collagen forms.

Why Choose Dr. Wick for FaceTite in Cleveland?

Patients throughout Northeast Ohio choose Wick Facial Plastics for Dr. Wick’s specialized understanding of facial anatomy and her ability to evaluate and treat the face and neck as a whole.

Specialization in facial aesthetics
As a double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Wick has an advanced understanding of how skin, fat, muscle, and underlying facial structure contribute to facial shape and definition, allowing her to plan treatment with facial proportion and balance in mind.

Careful candidate selection
FaceTite occupies a specific place between non-invasive treatments and facial surgery, and it is not the right solution for every stage of aging. Dr. Wick can distinguish between concerns that are likely to respond well to radiofrequency-assisted contouring and those that require a facelift, neck lift, or another approach for optimal results.

A comprehensive range of options
Your treatment is not limited to what FaceTite alone can accomplish. Depending on your anatomy and goals, Dr. Wick may recommend FaceTite as a standalone procedure or combine it with complementary treatments to address additional aspects of facial aging.

What are the risks of FaceTite?

FaceTite has a well-established safety profile when performed by a qualified, experienced provider, but like any minimally invasive procedure, it carries potential risks. These may include thermal injury, temporary numbness or nerve irritation, changes in skin pigmentation, asymmetry, contour irregularities, infection, or prolonged swelling.

Careful treatment planning, precise temperature control, and a thorough understanding of facial anatomy help minimize these risks. Dr. Wick will review potential complications, your medical history, and any factors that could affect healing before determining whether FaceTite is appropriate for you.

Is FaceTite an alternative to a facelift?

FaceTite can be a facelift alternative for appropriately selected patients with mild to moderate skin laxity who do not yet need the degree of correction provided by surgical intervention. It can tighten tissue and improve lower facial contours, but it does not remove significant excess skin or reposition deeper facial structures in the way surgery can.

Patients with more advanced jowling or significant tissue descent will generally achieve better outcomes with facial plastic surgery, such as a facelift or neck lift. Dr. Wick will evaluate the extent of your concerns and explain which approach is most likely to meet your expectations.

Is FaceTite the same as facial liposuction?

No. Chin and neck liposuction physically removes excess fat, while FaceTite uses radiofrequency energy to contract tissue and stimulate collagen production. For patients who have both excess fat and skin laxity, Dr. Wick may recommend using FaceTite in conjunction with liposuction to address both concerns more comprehensively.

Will FaceTite leave scars?

FaceTite is performed through a few very small entry points rather than the longer incisions required for a facelift or neck lift. Dr. Wick places these openings discreetly, and they typically become difficult to detect after healing.

When will I see my FaceTite results?

Some improvement in contour may be visible after about a week once swelling begins to resolve. Results continue to develop over the following weeks and months as collagen remodeling progresses and the treated tissues become firmer.

Because FaceTite produces structural changes beneath the skin rather than a temporary surface effect, patience during the healing and collagen-remodeling process is important when evaluating the final outcome.
